Currently, Indian River County chooses to euthanize community cats rather than Trap, Neuter, Vaccinate, and Return community cats. Recent studies have shown TNVR to successful in controlling the population of community cats. Overpopulation allows inbreeding and kitten birth defects. Please contact your county commissioner and ask him/her to support TNVR rather than euthanasia. If you wish to help visit TNVR of Indian River County as shown above.
